organization is for suckers.

(in busy studio pictures like this i always have to look through them closely to make sure there's no taco chips or cookie crumbs mixed in with my stuff)

fortune cookie embroidery cracks me up.

First of all, I love your work! And I wanted to say thank you so much for showing the back! I've just started doing embroidery recently and it seems like no one ever shows you how to finish things off. Is that insert attached or did you just put it in?

Thanks Vanessa! The back is all attached and sealed up nice. The glue gun is our friend :)

What stitch do you do your writing with?

wendy, i dont know what it's called... its where you make a little stitch and then pop the next one up through the middle of the one you just made.

(i got no technical no-how... lol)

Thanks so much, Melissa. That's how I do mine too (I think it's called a split stitch), but mine never looks as nice as yours. Everything goes all wonky on the curves.

Really love your work!

Thanks for showing us your organization skills. I am kinda the same way but I keep it in a draw people don't have to see it. :)

Can I ask where you get your supplies? Mainly just the felt and the material you use in you fortune cookie embroidery. I am stuck at trying to find some good stuff online.

Thanks.

Hey pinkbiscotti, I get my felt at quilting stores - there are 2 or 3 upscale quilt fabric stores in my area. It's not that expensive there and they have a really good wool collection - no acrylics. The linen in the fortune cookie pieces I just picked up at a jo-ann fabrics a while back.

Thank you! I'll have to invest in a glue gun then. :)
